Amate: Love Yourself
Hearts Taking Care of Our Health
Building on the successful launch of Amate in 2025, Mujeres Movimiento is deepening its commitment to local women’s health and wellness, continuing with our first cohort and expanding to 10 additional women in 2026.
What does this look like? The Amate Project will host an overnight retreat to welcome a new group of women, providing key health screening and fostering a trusted support network. New participants will receive full blood panels, gynecological exams, and mammograms, while returning women will receive follow-up testing as needed, with ongoing access to wellness support in nutrition, fitness, and mental health.
How can you support? We are excited to launch our new series of Amate paper artwork featuring a unique butterfly design created by long time friend and supporter of MM, Jay Peterson.

2025 Impact
Over five months, 21 women from our community came together to learn, move, and grow. Through bi-monthly individual consultations with a nutritionist, physical therapist, and a psychologist, the women discovered that true wellness begins from within. They supported one another, celebrated small wins, and learned to see themselves as strong, capable, and deserving of good health.
Here we share just a few of the participants’ thoughts about the impact Amate has had on their lives.
"I am grateful to each of the specialists who were with me, supporting me; it was a great help personally. Every activity that took place was very helpful, and for me it was a very good experience in every way. I thank the specialists, the women behind each donation, for all their support. Thank you very much."
"My experience has been so pleasant that I wouldn't change anything. For me, everything has been great, very professional. I don't know if anything could be improved, at least for me, everything was excellent."
"I feel that the Amate project was very comprehensive and, for a new project, very well organized. I think the time spent with the professionals was good and well used; I wouldn't change a thing. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of this wonderful project, to the sponsors and to the professionals for their support. I hope this is the beginning of something that will allow them to continue changing the lives of women in our community. THANK YOU SO MUCH.”
