Class Policies

1. Payment

Classes are paid a month in advance to ensure that our teachers are paid in a timely manner. Students are asked to register for recurring monthly payments through the portal by adding their payment info. Students will be charged per class at the prices established on our website.

2. Student Cancellations with Notice

Students who need to cancel an upcoming class must provide a 12-hour notice through the TutorBird portal. With a 12-hour notice, students will receive a make-up credit that must be used within 45 days after the lesson was cancelled.

3. Student Cancellations with Notice (Vacation Two Weeks or Less)

Students who wish to take a vacation from classes of no more than 2 weeks must provide a one week-notice through the TutorBird portal and notify the teacher. Students will be entitled to make-up credits that must be used within 45 days after the lesson was cancelled.

4. Student Cancellations with Notice (Longer than Three Weeks)

Students who wish to take a break longer than three weeks must provide a one-week notice. The following month's payment will be cancelled and no refund will be given for the current month. For students who would like to return, unless they continue to pay, we cannot guarantee classes at the same time with the same teacher.

5. Student Leaves the Program

Students who can no longer continue with their lessons must provide a 2-week notice. Students will be able to finish the lessons they are entitled to and their future payments will be cancelled but no refunds will be offered.

6. Student Cancellations Without Proper Notification

Students who cancel the class but do not provide a 12-hour notice, may not reschedule the class UNLESS it is an emergency –hospitalization, sickness, death, etc.—and will not be issued a refund.

7. Students Who Do Not Show Up for One Class

Students who do not show up for a class and who do not notify the teacher will not be given an option to reschedule and no refund will be offered UNLESS there has been an emergency — hospitalization, sickness, death, etc.—.

8. Students Who Do Not Show Up for Two Classes and Have Not Provided Notice

Students who do not show up for two classes and do not respond to a teacher’s email three times before the third next scheduled class may be removed from the schedule and no refund or rescheduling options will be given.

9. Teacher Cancellations and Teacher Vacation

If a teacher needs to cancel a class or take a vacation, students can either reschedule the lesson or the payment for the following month will be appropriately adjusted. *Please note: students can always opt to pay the teacher for any missed classes.
