English Summer CampThis summer, Mujeres Movimiento and Escuela Cooperativa co-sponsored a five-week English language program, Ingles Divertido, for local children from the public schools in Sayulita. Ingles Divertido is a community-based program. We hired and provided professional training for six bilingual staff members from the community including two experienced lead teachers, two assistants and two teenagers to provide a total immersion experience. The curriculum was developed by an expert in the field of teaching English as a second language and was based primarily on activities. The staff emphasized positive reinforcement and modeled how collaboration and teamwork lead to successful learning.

Eco BagsWith the goal of reducing the use of plastic bags in Sayulita, Mujeres Movimiento makes and sells eco-bags. Our bags are sewn by one of our founding members, Elvira. Each bag costs 200 pesos (about $10 USD) and comes with the center’s logo. Please contact us if you are interested in creating bags with your own logo for sale. In 2019, the center created just over a hundred eco-bags for the movie, Gringa.
